Erkrath, 14 December 2022 – Seco Tools is introducing the new High Feed SP high-feed milling cutter. Users benefit from high metal removal rates, improved chip evacuation and long service lives when machining challenging materials. High Feed SP is versatile and allows for easy assembly and handling, reliably avoiding any operator errors and unexpected machine downtimes.
Milling challenging materials such as steels, stainless, superalloys, and titanium materials can result in built-up cutting edges, damaged cutting edges, and broken inserts, increasing tool wear and the risk of unplanned downtime. Incorrectly mounted inserts can also cause downtime. In addition, users often have to switch between numerous tools to optimize milling performance at different cutting depths. For high-performance machining of the ISO P, M and S material groups, Seco Tools has developed the High Feed Milling Cutter High Feed SP, which increases productivity and reduces the cost per workpiece.
Powerful and versatile
The combination of optimized geometries, cutting materials and high-feed adjustment angles ensures high performance and longer service life. High Feed SP can be used flexibly and is suitable for milling with high feeds as well as for copy milling, inward copying, pocket milling, face milling and plunge milling. This allows users to optimize milling performance without having to change tools for different machining strategies and workpiece materials. The tool inventory can thus be significantly reduced.
Easy handling avoids failures
High Feed SP is robust and particularly easy to install. Intuitive insert marking minimizes operator errors that can lead to downtime and unnecessary scrap. The inserts are also provided with a data matrix code. Users can scan this with the Seco Assistant smartphone app for iOS and Android and receive relevant cutting data such as feed, cutting speed and metal removal rate for optimal machining in a matter of seconds.
A solution for different cutting depths
The High Feed SP series of high-feed milling cutters cover cutting depths from 1.1 mm to 2.5 mm. Users can choose between the SP10 (diameter range 32 mm to 63 mm including inch equivalents), SP14 (50 mm to 100 mm) and SP18 (63 mm to 160 mm), each of which includes ten geometries and ten types of cutting material.
