Also known as integrally bladed rotors, or IBRs, blisks present a variety of machining challenges due to the materials used and their complex geometries.Manufactured most often from PH steels and titanium, flap tracks control the flaps located on the trailing edge of an aircraft’s wings. These components often require long cycle times in difficult materials, offering the chance for substantial productivity gains through process improvements from new tooling technologies.
