STEP UK ADVANCED Course - 5th & 6th September 2017
STEP UK ADVANCED Course - September 2017STEP -SECO'S TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME
STEP, as the acronym suggest, is focused on progression as well as Technical Education. The programme features three different and distinct levels - each level aimed at specific target ausiencesfound within any and every manufacturing company - large or small.
The objective of all STEP programmes is to provide customers with a good understanding of the machining process commensurate with their job function and career ambitions. By using proven and robust theories and models, STEP customers acquire relevant knowledge and skills that can be used (by them) to influence and improve their respective company-specific machining processes.
All courses are delivered by highly skilled STEP trainers who have proven applications engineering experience and a track record in training. Recognising that many course attendees may not be familiar with modern training techniques or may not feel confident being back in the classroom all STEP courses are delivered in a supportive, informal and friendly environment. Class sizes are small to ensure that training is effective, and that all attendees can participate. contribute and learn.
At the end of each course attendees are supplied with their own STEP certificate which details the training they have undertaken.
THE THREE LEVELS OF STEP TRAINING
STEP Core - Aimed at machine tool operations, setters, machine shop supervisors, programmers.
STEP Advanced - Aimed at managerial and technical staff with responsibilities for production, planning, design, quality etc.
Next STEP - Aimed at managers and directors, including managing directors, CEO's and company owners.
THE STEP ADVANCED COURSE
STEP Advanced provides course attendees with specialist training and focuses on the science of the metal cutting process and (specifically) on turning, milling, holemaking and threading applications. Using advanced machining models course attendees are able to optimise planning and design-to-manufacture processes, and better predict the outcomes of both, in advance.
Combining theory with practice the emphasis is on equipping course attendees with relevant skills and knowledge to aid decision making, solve machining issues and better predict machining process outcomes.
