The Seco standards for Solid Carbide tools
THE Seco designation system for solid carbide milling cutters
For solid carbide milling cutters, there is no full ISO designation system as for indexable inserts. Seco developed a unique system that is built using the same principles as the ISO system for indexable inserts.
The system is designed so that each important feature and dimension of the solid carbide milling cutter is shown using a code system. This becomes the name of the solid carbide milling cutter.
This system has several advantages:
- Unique naming of the solid carbide milling cutter
- All important features and dimensions are clearly stated in the name
- Some code positions relate to the holding tool in which the solid carbide milling cutter should be clamped
It's important to remember that this designation system is not a system that standardizes the quality of the solid carbide milling cutter.
