Overcome Common Aerospace Challenges With Seco
Learn about how we can work with you to find aerospace solutions. We Offer Aerospace Expertise
In order to help work through both common and unique challenges, we have an aerospace task force made up of aerospace specialists around the globe. Our teams are dedicated to staying on top of aerospace manufacturing trends by working with research institutes, universities, and various other organizations such as the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC)/The University of Sheffield.
This task force was created for those who are trying to meet the high-demands of aerospace manufacturing, looking for technological advances, and often customized solutions to application issues. We work to showcase our expertise by sharing examples of specific aerospace solutions, component engineering solutions, as well as partnership and customer success stories.
Our team actively listens to the problem and will work with you to create a solution after having a full understanding of what needs to be accomplished. Click the link below to partner with Seco to develop unique solutions and conquer your aerospace manufacturing challenges.
Examples Of Delivering Improved Productivity In Aerospace Manufacturing
Avoid Pollution In Stacked Materials
Are you experiencing challenges like delamination, high pressures during Z-axis drilling or serious chip pollution when machining in stacked CFRP/Titanium and CFRP/Aluminum? Eliminate these issues and more with JC898/899 solid carbide end mills. The JC898 offers frontal teeth designed ideally for helical interpolation, which reduces and minimized the risk of delamination, while the JC899 utilized two-in-one geometry to eliminate chip pollution. These result in processes being twice as fast as those performed with alternative solutions and had double the tool life.

Best Practices For Blisk Manufacturing
A blisk is a complex single-piece component with a very high added-value. The challenge in machining this component is to remove excess material between the blades efficiently while maintaining an effective strategy to support the blades during the finishing process to ensure the blade is to the correct profile and surface finish requirements.
With our partners, Grob Machine Tools, Open Mind, and CGTech, we've developed a best practice component machining solution for a Titanium blisk that includes:
- 5-axis advanced milling strategies for roughing and semi-finishing, together with barrel milling techniques for efficient blade finishing.
- Bespoke workholding and blade machining development with advanced dedicated 5-axis simultaneous CAM processes from Open Mind HyperMill.
- Physics-based feed-rate optimization with Vericut Force, resulting in shorter cycle times, improved part quality and increased tool life.
