The dedicated W-MF4 insert geometry is a high-feed wiper geometry that improves output when machining stainless steels. With the high-feed wiper geometry, manufacturers can significantly increase surface finish quality, cycle times or both, depending on the priorities and demands of their specific application. It enables them to achieve the high-performance levels that have been available for other metals, but were difficult to attain when cutting stainless steels. The W-MF4 also provides better chip control. W-MF4 is available in Duratomic® grades TM2000 and TM4000 and PVD-coated grade CP500.The Duratomic coating technology, which is exclusive to Seco and manipulates aluminum and oxygen at the atomic level to create insert coatings with unmatched toughness and abrasion resistance, allows the TM2000 and TM4000 to provide excellent turning performance in stainless steels. The CP500 is a universal grade that achieves strong results across a wide variety of workpiece materials due to its unique PVD coating.
