Aerospace engine application videos

With many years of dedicated research and developement, we work closely with customers in the Aerospace industry. While most successful application cases are to be kept confidential between us and our customers, we do run regular demonstrations and test-cuts with partner companies and in our training facilities.

The video files listed below illustrate Aeroengine applications and convey ideas on how to deploy Seco®'s products successfully.

  Blade machining 1:
Tools applied: round insert cutter R217.29
This is a peel top-to-bottom machining
method that reduces the tendency for vibration
  occurance.

Blade machining 1

  Blade machining 2:
  Tools applied: Turbo cutters R217.69
  Mill-turning based, multi-axis machining method.
  Efficient roughing strategy for blades.

Blade machining 3:
Tools applied: Minimaster® end milling system.
  Mill-turning based multi axis machining.

Blade machining 3

  Blisk machining 1:
Tools applied: Minimaster® end mill system.
Plunge milling is efficient technique to remove
the bulk of material in the shortest possible time.
Favorable cutting force direction lowers vibration
  risk and increases tool life.
Blisk machining 1

  Blisk CAM machining strategy:
Tools applied: Minimaster® and solid end mills.
  Plunging and and multi-axis contouring.
These methods allow for the shortest possible
tool overhang and thus increase stability.
Higher cutting data and tool life is achieved.
Blisk machining 2

  Mill-turning:
Tools applied: Turbo cutters and Minimaster® end
mill system. Multi axis milling allows for short tool
  overhang and maximised machine stability.
High cutting data and long tool life results.
Turn milling application

  Blade CAM machining strategy:
Tools applied: round insert cutter R217.29 and
  Turbo cutters.
  Efficicient roughing and semi-roughing simulation.
