The new Duratomic TP1501 provides the first choice CVD grade for high performance with well-balanced properties for different applications requiring high wear resistance and elevated cutting speeds.
A significant share of steel turning applications feature working conditions that demand TP1501’s design properties, and it is generally most applicable to workpieces made from softer, low-alloy steels. The balanced wear resistance & toughness of TP1501 makes it an excellent compliment to Seco’s other steel cutting grades, TP0501, TP2501 and TP3500.
TP1501 excels in applications with higher productivity requirements especially involving lower alloyed carbon steels. As a higher hardness grade with maximised edge toughness, the inserts feature enhanced wear and deformation resistance for low to medium temperature semi-interrupted cutting conditions and running with coolant or without.
TP1501 also offers properties that make it highly effective in machining of ductile cast irons. In toughness demanding applications, metal removal rates are comparable to those of existing Seco TK1001 & TK2001 grades dedicated to cast Irons.
